Pan American Coastal Studies Laboratory: The Coastal Studies Laboratory was established as a marine biology laboratory in 1973 in Isla Blanca Park on South Padre Island. The CSL’s public displays contain species of fauna and flora from the
immediate area of the Lower Laguna Madre and South Padre Island. The laboratory is open for public visitation 1:30 to 4:30 P.M. Sunday through Friday. Organized school groups, civic and other groups should arrange to visit Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to noon. CSL is located at 100 Marine Lab Drive, South Padre Island, Texas.

Wyland Wall #53: The Whaling Wall, is a 265 Feet Long x 25 Feet High mural by the artist Wyland dedicated on March 14, 1994, featuring images of life-size whales titled “Orcas off the Gulf of Mexico”. A total of 100 Wyland Wall murals were painted by the artist to increase awareness of dangers faced by the world’s marine life.
